ANTS!!
August 24, 2006 at 5:02 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 CommentsI got into my car this afternoon to head for work as I usually do. A few minutes pass and I feel a sting on my leg. I scratch it and keep driving. A little bit later I am at a light and get another sting… So I look down at my legs and they are crawling with ants… Yeeesh! Not only are they all over my legs, but they are on the dashboard, the center console, and all over my seat! After I get to work I do my best to smash all the ants on me, and while on my lunchbreak I attempt to kill all the ants in the car, but I will have to use bug spray.
I remember a few years ago when my father was stranded at the airport because ants had gotten into his engine block and ate the computer core that controls the engine. I hope that doesn’t happen here! EEK!
Where the Hell Have I Been!??
July 26, 2006 at 11:48 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 CommentWhere have I been? I can’t really explain it easily. I have been feeling pretty low lately. I guess living by myself, along with my stressful job, and recent family events have combined to give me one hell of a case of depression. But I have picked myself back up, brushed myself off, and got back on the horse, as it were. So here goes! Coming back with all new slanted opinions, spelling and grammar mistakes, and general foolishness that only a 32 year old geek can do…..
Lets get the bad stuff out of the way… My oldest sister Denise was recently diagnosed with cancer. It was a sudden reminder of how fragile we all are. She had undergone surgery to determine if she needed chemotherapy and it turned out that she would. I believe it was to start this week. She confided to me that she was very scared and worried about her kids and husband. All I can do is hope that she will pull through OK. I told her that I believed that she would be OK and that if she kept positive, everything else would fall into place. It is very hard to remain positive in the face of such terrible news, but that is all I can do. Everyone I have told has said that they will pray for her. It can only help.
I am still employed at B&N. While things have improved and morale is slowly getting back to normal, I am still faced with the choice of continuing to work there or find a new job for lower initial pay and less control. I also have the option of going back to school and trying for a degree. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can handle it at this time. I don’t have the income to support going to school and still be able to pay the bills. I do not have the option to move back in with the parents and I don’t think my current rotating work schedule can support going to class. I might try going part time and see where that takes me, but I won’t be doing that till next year. I still have no idea what I want to do even if I did go back….
And now, for the good… Before the old demon depression decides to turn it’s gaze my way again….
I am currently addicted to a couple of TV shows.
Top Gear is the worlds best and most watched show about cars. It isn’t as boring as the weather report like most other car shows and it isn’t just the cars they talk about that make this show good. The three hosts argue much like the way Adrian, Martin, and I do.
Life on Mars
I recently got back into going to the movies.
I saw Cars a few weeks ago. I wasn’t nearly as impressed with this movie as much as I was with Pixar’s last few movies. There was too much Larry the Cable Guy and not enough story. It seemed a little too shallow and one dimensional. Kind of like Owen Wilson….
Superman Returns was a very good film. I don’t normally like superhero movies but this one was less silly and more action packed with a good story. Unfortunately it hasn’t done as well at the box office and there is talk that there will be no sequel.
Finally, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and liked it OK. I thought it was a little rushed but all in all it was thrilling. I have heard that some people were put off by the end, but all I can say is IT IS A TRILOGY! GET OVER IT!! I won’t spoil it for you if you have not seen it yet.
And the long awaited rant:
I deal with the public a lot in my job and, being that it is summer time, people can’t believe how hot it is outside. I cannot help but be completely flabergasted by this. IT IS SUMMER TIME! IT IS HOT DURING SUMMER TIME!! SUPRISE!!!

It’s Dead….
April 12, 2006 at 5:17 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 CommentI must report the death of a dear, loyal friend of mine. I saw it every day when I woke up. When I went out anywhere it was with me. It was completely dependable and reliable and never let me down. I used it every day and in lots of different situations.
Ladies and gentlemen, my iPod has passed away.

Funny Flyby
March 11, 2006 at 6:07 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 CommentI found this while reading about the Tomcat retiring. Click on the link to see the video of a news reporter getting buzzed by a WWII era Spitfire (another favorite of mine long since retired). Talk about low flying!!

Last of the Big Cats…
March 11, 2006 at 5:58 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a commentIt saddens me to report that the F-14 Tomcat is no longer being flown. The Tomcat was one of my favorite aircraft since I was little and I have seen it a few times on static display at some larger airshows. Unfortunately I never saw one in the air and I always wanted to.
Here is a pic from it’s last flyby. Anytime baby….

Sweet! I am Serenity!
February 15, 2006 at 10:06 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 CommentYou scored as Serenity (Firefly). You like to live your own way and dont enjoy when anyone but a friend tries to tell you should do different. Now if only the Reavers would quit trying to skin you.

Dear Freakin’ God!!
February 14, 2006 at 3:17 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 CommentI am in so much pain….
I tried a little experiment today to see if I could make taco seasoning using cayenne pepper and seasoning salt since I am out of the little packets and didn’t want to make a run to the store. I must have overdone it…. By a lot…
My stomach is cramping up… My mouth feels like I swallowed hot coals… Ugh… I won’t talk about the other stuff but you can guess…. I just drank a glass of milk to calm the fire and I think it curdled in my stomach…
At least the rushing in my ears and the strange lights have stopped… Won’t go to the hospital….
Lesson learned… A pound and a half of ground beef wasted…. Gah….
Super Bowl Sunday
February 6, 2006 at 3:04 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 6 CommentsI know it has been a while… Not much to write about till now…
Currently watching the Super Bowl. Now usually I am not a big football fan, but I have pulled for the Steelers in the past. Today is no different. Go Pittsburg! I do think that Seattle deserves to win because this is their first Super Bowl, but I still like Pittsburg. As I write this, the game has just begun so I haven’t the slightest idea how it will go.
One thing I do love about the Super Bowl is the commercials. So far, they have been the usual beer/car/soft-drink crap, but some are just downright silly. Here is my play-by-play of Super Bowl Commercials. Minus ABC show ads….
Pregame: The ABC Football ad with Harrison Ford performing Dr. Seuss was great. Too bad they lost the Monday Night Football Francise…
6:35pm: The Bud Light office ad and magic fridge are funny, but the Sierra Mist ad was just stupid. More to come when I see them.
6:46pm: Nice to see Toyota is going Hispanic. Fed Ex cavemen.. Funny… Yet another Bud Light commercial… Stupid…. Seems like Bud Light is the official drink of ABC Football…. Too bad it tastes like urine…. Not that I know what that tastes like.
6:51pm: V for Vendetta…meh. No desire to see that. Diet Pepsi sucks…Both the commercial and the drink.
6:58pm: Looks like Seattle has scored first. 3 zip with a field goal. Alieve commercial with Leonard Nimoy funny, Ameriquest Mortgage even funnier! Another Bud Light pile of crap…
7:04pm: Diet Pepsi ad with Jackie Chan… pah… Cars movie by Pixar looks funny. Might see that.
7:12pm: Budwiser is really nuts… Farm animal football streaker… Yeesh… Mobile ESPN …. meh. If I recall correctly, ESPN has always had a presence on Mobile devices…. What’s so new about this?
7:17pm: CareerBuilder.com’s commercial reminds me too much of B&N management… Still funny, though. Cadilac needs to stop making the Escalade… Or as Martin and I say, the Es-crap-ade… Another pointless SUV by a company that makes passable cars as it is…
7:20pm: MI3???? WHY GOD, WHY?? As if Tom Cruise can salvage a flagging career….Who is he fooling with the “girlfriend” thing…. Dove commercial…. Props to you for telling the truth. Albeit from a company that has employed too-good-to-be-true models in the past….
7:26pm: Shaggy Dog? Disney movies… Kermit being “green” for a Ford Hybrid. Go figure… Cute commercial, though. Nice to see Kermit doing “extreme sports.” Michelob had a slightly more funny commercial than Bud…. Only slightly…
7:35pm: GoDaddy.com is on form for this year… And what a form!
7:37pm: What is it with these Hollywood remakes?? Poseiden?? Gah… Gene Hackman must be shaking his head…New Razor by Gillette… Just in time for the Super Bowl…
7:40pm: Pittsburg scores! Great, hard fought touchdown! But Seattle is challenging…. And it stands!! Woo!!!
7:41pm: Overstock.com chick is hot… but I will never shop there.
7:44pm: Pittsburg makes it 7! Go Steelers! Seen this Disneyworld commercial before…
7:53pm: Seattle tried to make another field goal, but choked!
7:54pm: Halftime! Wonder whose boobs we will see…. Hopefully not Mick’s…. Oh, christ… Sprint phones are not that strong… Wow! The NFL has a good sense of humor about how we watch the Super Bowl. Really weird Lexus commercial. Kinda cool though. Nationwide commercial is just sappy… It’s halftime and I have to pee after drinking 4 Cokes… May change to beer in a little while… Nice to see Mick and the gang still remember the lyrics to “Start Me Up.” They played a new song… “Rough Justice”… meh… “Satisfaction!” Wooo!
8:20pm: Local company called Pet’s Inc has just the dumbest ad I have ever seen… A fake Snoop Dogg…. Gah. Halftime is over… Thank god… Kickoff to come. Probably more piles of crap from Bud Light.
8:24pm: NFL’s “I’m going to Disneyworld.” is cute. Saw it once already before the game started, though.
8:30pm: Kickoff! Second half starts! Parker scores!! YEAH!!! And it’s a good FG! Steelers 14 to Seatle 3!
8:33pm: Another Ameriquest funny… Motorola PEBL… Weird. Sharpie pen thing… Silly.
8:41pm: Seattle misses another FG attempt… Awww… A cute one from Budwiser. LMAO!! Nationwide Fabio commercial was good! ESPN Mobile commercial about old vs new technology… Silly…
8:49pm: Someone copied a G4 commerical… Damn Hummer… PS cleaner… Weird.
8:52pm: Seattle intercepts! NOOO!
8:54pm: Seattle gets a TD. Damnit… And a FG…. Pittsburg 14 Seatle 10…
8:55pm: CareerBuilder.com has damn funny commercials. Taco Bell…. Huh? I seriously doubt Taco Bell is making anything close to Mexican food anymore…. Crunch Wrap…. No comprende, Taco Bell….
9:01pm: Another Gillette Fusion commercial. Meh… I really want to see the “World’s Fastest Indian” movie. Interesting Toyota commerical. Reminds me of when Jeremy Clarkson did that with an old Toyota pickup to see how strong it was. It survived bashing, banging, drowning, fire, and a building collapse from the top floor. It still ran… Damn good trucks that…
9:14pm: Switching to beer… Getting tight here… C’mon Steelers… Hold it together… Sprint commerical… OK that was funny. I still hate the company…. Chrysler Pacifica commercial… Seen it before… Time Warner cable flogging their crap…. This blog is brought to you by Time Warner… Toyota Tacoma skating Monument Valley commercial. Cool.
9:22pm: Pittsburg intercepts! Yay! And a penalty for Seattle! Haha! Stunt City commercial by Degree is good. Emerald nuts is just plain nuts… Fidelity commercial… Meh… Never much cared for Paul McCartney…
9:27pm: Steelers score again!! HAHA!! Good play! Steelers 21 Seattle 10! Yahoo!
9:29pm: Gimmicky Budwiser stadium commercial… Feh. Pirates of the Caribbean 2! Sweet! MacGuyver Mastercard commercial….Priceless… You saw that coming…
9:33pm: Seattle fumbles! First down Pittsburg! Yeah! Seattle challenges… and they get it. Crap… Fumble overturned…
9:34pm: Same ESPN Mobile commercial…. Meh… Weird Honda Ridgeline commercial… The Ridgeline is OK, but it reminds me too much of a Chevy Avalance… Here’s to Beer.. I’ll say!
9:40pm: Interesting showing from Baseball on NFL’s night. GoDaddy.com commercial repeats…
9:53pm: Running Scared movie…. Huh? Outback Steakhouse commercial…. Weird. Westin Hotel commercial…. Meh. Odd ESPN Pro Bowl commercial.
10:02pm: Looks like Pittsburg won! YEAH!! Final Score Pittsburg 21 Seattle 10! WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Looks like that is all for now. I am going to cook my lunch for tommorow at work and I shall try to update this blog more as things happen.
